Central Railway has published Supply Of pocket size mini tyre defect gauge , pocket size mini tyre defect gauge suitable for measurement of the following wheel defects n broad gauge coaching stock: (a) excessively worn tread or deep flange, (b) small root radius at wheel fla nge root, (c) thin flange, (d) sharp flange, and (e) flat tyre. the gauge shall be made of hardened stainless- steel plate with a thickness of approximately 3.0-3.8 mm and dimensional accuracy within +/-0.05 mm. th e gauge shall be lightweight pocket type, approximately 135 g in weight (without case), and suitable for fie d/depot use. the gauge shall be equivalent in design and functionality to pie model mtdg-1-2250 or equiva lent reputed oem conforming to indian railway requirements. each gauge shall be supplied complete with a durable carrying case with belt holster, instruction manual, and a valid calibration certificate traceable to nabl-accredited or government-approved calibration laboratory.
